Be the Hands and Feet of Christ

The Social Justice Ministry seeks to live out the Gospel by putting our faith into action. Inspired by Christ’s call to love our neighbors, we serve those in need while working to recognize and address injustices in our community, our nation, and throughout the world. Through prayer, education, outreach, advocacy, and acts of mercy, we strive to bring Christ’s hope, compassion, and love to all.

We believe that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference. Whether you enjoy volunteering, learning about important social issues, supporting outreach efforts, or simply have a heart for serving others, there is a place for you in our ministry.

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ, sharing His love and making a positive impact in the lives of others.

One of our most meaningful ministries is our partnership with St. Joseph Parish in Fonds-Parisien, Haiti. This relationship is far more than financial support. It is a living expression of our Catholic faith and our commitment to caring for one another as members of the Body of Christ.

Four times each year, St. Michael the Archangel takes up a quarterly Second Collection to support our Sister Parish. Every gift, regardless of the amount, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

Your generosity helps provide:

Clean, safe drinking water for families.
Catholic education for children, helping them grow in faith while receiving a quality education.
Support for the parish so St. Joseph can continue proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments, and serving those in need.

Through your prayers and generosity, we continue to build a relationship rooted in faith, hope, and love. Together we are reminded that the Church extends far beyond our parish walls—we are one family in Christ. Please continue to keep the people of Haiti in your prayers.

Angel Tree Project

Each Advent, the St. Michael the Archangel Social Justice Committee invites our parish family to share the love of Christ through our annual Angel Tree Project. This cherished ministry provides Christmas gifts to local children and families who may otherwise go without during the holiday season.

Beginning the weekend of before Thanksgiving, a Christmas tree decorated with mitten tags will be displayed in the church entrance. Each mitten represents the Christmas wish of a child in our community.

How You Can Help

Choose a mitten tag from the Angel Tree.
Purchase and wrap the requested gift, keeping the value between $40–$50. This helps ensure that every child receives a gift of similar value, especially in families with multiple children.
Return your wrapped gift usually be the second weekend in December, with the original mitten tag securely attached. A collection box will be available at the back of the church.

Your generosity helps make Christmas brighter for children and families in our community. More than a gift, you are sharing the hope, joy, and love of Christ during this holy season. Thank you for helping make the spirit of Christmas come alive through your kindness and compassion.
