At St. Michael Parish, the sacraments are at the heart of our journey of discipleship. Through them, we encounter the living presence of Jesus Christ, receive His grace, and are strengthened to live as His disciples in the world.
Jesus’ command, “Go, therefore, and make disciples,” is not a mission we accomplish on our own.
Through the sacraments, God forms us, nourishes us, heals us, and sends us forth to share His love with others.
Baptism
Discipleship begins in Baptism. Through the waters of Baptism, we become children of God, members of the Church, and followers of Jesus Christ. Baptism marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith and discipleship. Reconciliation
As disciples, we continually seek conversion of heart. In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we encounter God’s mercy, receive forgiveness, and are restored to communion with God and His Church. Through His grace, we are strengthened to continue our journey of discipleship. Opportunities to celebrate reconciliation you can come to St. Michael confession times which are Saturdays at 4:00 pm or by appointment. Eucharist (Holy Communion)
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life. At every Mass, we gather as disciples around the Lord’s table, receive the Body and Blood of Christ, and are sent forth to be His presence in the world. The Eucharist strengthens us to live the Gospel and make disciples in our daily lives. Confirmation
Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit deepens the gifts first received in Baptism and equips us for mission. Confirmed disciples are empowered to witness to Christ through their words, actions, and service to others. Anointing of the Sick
Christ walks with us in times of illness, suffering, and weakness. Through the Anointing of the Sick, He offers healing, comfort, strength, and peace to those facing serious illness or the challenges of aging. Matrimony
In the Sacrament of Marriage, a man and woman are united in a lifelong covenant of love that reflects Christ’s love for His Church. Christian marriage forms a domestic church where faith is lived, nurtured, and passed on to future generations of disciples. Holy Orders
Through Holy Orders, men are called to serve the Church as deacons, priests, and bishops. Their ministry helps proclaim the Gospel, celebrate the sacraments, and guide the faithful in their call to discipleship. Please contact the Diocese of Grand Rapids Vocation Office.
